Kari Barclay

Assistant Professor of Theater, Oberlin College

Kari is a writer, director, and educator based in Cleveland, Ohio. They have directed productions across the country, including Duke alum Sam Kebede's Lack History at Ars Nova in 2022. Their original plays include CAN I HOLD YOU, the first full-length play about asexuality produced in the U.S (San Francisco Mime Troupe), and STONEWALLIN', winner of the 2021 So.Queer Playwriting Festival (Richmond Triangle Players). Kari is also a theater scholar who regularly writes about theater, sexuality, and politics.
